Edmar Castañeda was born in Bogotá, Colombia. Since his move to the United States in 1994, Edmar has quite literally taken New York and the world stage by storm with the sheer force of his virtuosic command of the harp - revolutionizing the way audiences and critics alike consider an instrument commonly relegated to the “unusual category”. A master at realizing beautiful complexities of time, while skillfully drawing out lush colors and dynamic spirit, Edmar has been characterized as “almost a world unto himself” (The New York Times). Castaneda plays the harp as a lead instrument, in a fashion owing something alike to flamenco guitar and piano, bending notes, conjuring up astounding melodic and bass lines and jazz harmonies with an intensely rhythmic, percussive attack. Superbly backed in various spare combinations of trumpet, flugelhorn, trombone, bandoneon, electric bass, drums, congas, percussion, and palmas, Castaneda essays a mostly original repertoire tinged with Afrojoropo, bulería, and rumba, sturdily improvisational whatever the genre.
The legendary Paquito D’Rivera, Edmar’s frequent collaborator, has remarked:  “Edmar is…an enormous talent; he has the versatility and the enchanting charisma of a musician who has taken his harp out of the shadow to become one of the most original musicians from the Big Apple”.
Edmar Castañeda has performed and recorded (to rave critical reviews) with an impressive lineup including the Chico O'Farrill Afro-Cuban Jazz Big Band, Lila Downs, Giovanni Hidalgo, Paquito D'Rivera, Wynton Marsalis, John Patitucci, Dave Samuels, and John Scofield.

DOS SOLES - Ar / Fr / Slq ............(Europa Tournée: März-Juni 2010)
Das Trio Dos Soles wurde von der Begegnung von drei Musikern mit unterschiedlichen Carriere geboren: Ladislav Szathmary, Violoncellist von Slowakei, diplomiert in Bratislava und Paris, Illya Amar, französischen Vibrafonist, der zu den neuen Generation im Horizont der parisian Jazz und Matias Marcipar, Multi-Instrumentalist aus Argentinien, mit traditionellen folkloristische Wurzeln. Die Kompositionen von Dos Soles basieren sich in der Vielfalt von ihren Kulturen und Persönlichkeiten, ihre Musik ist voll von Folklore, Tradition und Modernität. Obwohl anfangs das Projekt auf argentinischen Kompositionen gerichtet wurde, ist das Repertoire von neuen musikalischen Strömen anderen Kulturen (Vietnam, Osteuropa und Spanien) angereichert worden sowie originalen Kompositionen. Dos Soles bewahrt immer die musikalische Entität und der Zusammenhang der gesuchte Ästhetik: ein Kammer Approach, mit Priorität  in die Qualität des Klanges, das Rhythmus und die Freiheit für die Improvisation..

SINESI & DORADO - Argentinien
Quique Sinesi und Carlos Dorado gehören mit ihrem persönlichen Stil zu den bedeutensten modernen Gitarren-Spielern Argentiniens. Ihre Musik basiert auf Elementen des Tango und der Folklore ihres Landes und auf verschiedenen südamerikanischen Rhythmen. Daneben fliessen weitere Elemente, wie Jazz und klassische Musik in ihre Musik ein. Carlos Dorado leitet in der Schweiz das Internationales Guitarrenfestival  ‚Guitarras del Mundo’ und macht eine bedeutende musikalische und kulturelle Arbeit in seinem Kulturhaus Villa Sonja in Pieterlen.  Quique Sinesi hat das Grammi Latino 2005 für die beste Tango-CD zusammen mit Pablo Ziegler und Walter Castro gewonnen.
Das Duo Sinesi & Dorado spielt haupsächlich Eigenkompositionen, aber auch Neuinterpretationen bekannter Komponisten.

GUAFA TRIO - Kolumbien .- (Europe Tour: October - November 2010)
A flute, that usually takes the melody; a double bass that not only keeps the rhythm but ventures at times to sing the melody; and cuatro llanero, a four-string guitar, surprise the listener with a new approach to the music of Colombia. These three very diverse instruments played with enormous vitality and limpid clarity has been put together by Guafa Trio to reinvent the tradition. They play an intricate blend of traditional Colombian and Venezuelan music, and their musical expression as well as their technical virtuosity is simply mind-blowing! With joropos, pasillos, and bambucos, Guafa entice the audience with a colourful and unforgettable voyage to the vast lands of South America. It's almost a decade since their first live appearance captured the attention of the audience and have performed in Latin America, United States and Europe in prestigious jazz events as South By Southwest Festival (Austin, Texas, US) as well as in world music festivals as Les Nuits Atypiques (France); Festival of Musica Viva, Getxo Folk Festival (Spain), Tropentheater (The Netherlands) among others.
